She knocked with high enthusiasm on the smooth wooden door surface. Granted, who would mind if Belgium pocked her nose in? Miss Hungary certainly wouldn't, since the two girls were long friends. Ever since the days of ye olde colonization of Mr and Mrs. Hapsburg. The occasional visits between Antonio and Austria allowed for the two to become like sisters; sharing dirt on political struggles, hair and makeup (though more for Belgium than for Hungary) became almost routine whenever the two saw each other. Even after becoming independent, Belgium looked forward to seeing Elizaveta.

Amber popped in. Classic Elisa, leaving her porn sprawled out over the nearby coffee table. Tip toeing her way to the kitchen, Amber wondered if Elisa was even home... well regardless, Amber was after all only here for a frying pan to cook waffles on. Amber made her way to the edge of the kitchen, and turned the corner to go in.

Elisa usually kept the door unlocked while she was home, except once it got dark and passed the eight pm mark, for some reason, it was just a smarter idea and she was too cheap to call for a locksmith to change the locks and screw with Gilbert's mind for bit. She was currently in the kitchen, she was badly craving sweets for the moments, and being somewhat of a homeboday in the cooking sense, what better way than making something she was good at!

Although she had some classic music playing, a habit left over from her ex husband, she could hear the unlocking of a door and the pittering of soft feet, which meant it was one of the girls who were visiting currently. She smiled and picked up her head from the stove and spun to see a familiar face and duclet tone.

"Ah! Amber, pleasure to see you this afternoon! How can I help you?" She was quite happy to see the Belgian, luckily the two had maintained a friendship during her ex husband's union with Antonio and after when she entered into a marriage with Roderich herself, there were so few female nations that the lot of them normally banded together in this case. "You look fabulous, so far! How are your siblings?"

She ushered the other woman to take a seat on on of her stools in the kitchen, forgoing a table chair set for a tall handcarved table with bar stools as seats, a gift from Ludwig, Gilbert, Vash and Lillie on her accesion into the European Union.

Amber gleefully skipped into the kitchen with a large smile spread across each cheek. The smell of delicious baking filled the air, growing more powerful the closer she got to Elisa. Her fingers tip toed to a nicely cut sweet, her eyes intensely fixated.
"I came for a little something to cook with" Two fingers curled around the sweet, the begging in her eyes reflected up to Elisa's for approval.
"I'm not sure how Net is... he's such a cold fellow you know? Its so hard to tell when he's actually in a good mood or not" She giggled at the thought of Net's habitual frown. His forehead would all but wrinkle up and his eyes would have the slightest of glares. Of course, nothing could beat his flustered face; wide eyes, mouth gapping in several directions, and yet he was still frowning. "Spain and Romano though.... hmmm its been a while with them too! Spain's probably got debt to worried about, I was hoping to make him some waffles,"

Amber examined the wood work of the fine kitchen set, trying desperately hard to keep her eyes off the sweets. Her hand brushed over the reddish oak workmanship. It added such a warm colour to the kitchen, and went so nicely with decor. "Such lovely furniture... it goes so nicely with your house," she giggled "And my skirt," Amber twirled to show off today's adventures in shopping. It was flirty skirt with flower print, the cut just above the knees. "I got it to celebrate spring with!"

Elisa raised an eyebrow at seeing Amber try and reach, but than pull back for the sweet. She had made sure to catch her eye and nodded with a slight giggle. "Oh go ahead and take a sweet or two, lord knows I am baking for an army right now". Listening to Amber speak was a nice change from all the masculine tones that she has been hearing for a while... and the fact that it was a friend made it even better.

"Netherlands, always seems to have a frown on his face.... wonder why?" she through out there but reigned herself in as she sat down on the bar stool to keep Amber company, bringing with her two glasses and a pitcher of lemonade. "Waffles, I think the boys would quite like that to be honest, and you do make delicious Waffles"

Elisa nodded and smiled at the skirt, it was quite pretty indeed. "Thank you, I do love it in the kitchen, you know what you need, and where everything is... take what you need"

Amber's face shone gleefully as her fingers crept back to the sweet. The goo of baked sugar covered her fingers, making them sweet and sticky. Within an instant the treat was gone, melting pleasantly inside her mouth as a multitude of flavors circulated around her tongue. "Magnifique Elisa~ What are you making them for?" Amber smiled, sucking the ends of her fingers.

"Thats just who Net is.," she giggled again, "Frère has always been more of an independent person that a colony. Perhaps he's just upset that his pride was undermined by Spain of all nations several years ago. I wouldn't be too surprised if Frère Net held a grudge" Of course, these were only theories Amber gathered from years of studying her brother and his strange ways. Perhaps it was a bit much to assume, but Belgium had a confident feeling in her gut when it came to Netherlands. And who better to share these speculations, than her friend to shy to ask?

Amber took another sweet, and got up from her sitting place to search about for a frying pan. She looked in the cupboard filled with frying pans; most of them had very large dents in them. There were a few very old and valuable frying pans that, for reasons of her own, Elisa had kept. "Its spring shopping season. Would you like to come pick out a new dress for yourself? Oh there are such lovely dresses in the stores now!" Amber clanked through the the mounds of metal before coming across a pan with a particularly large dent in it. Facial features could be roughly made out, like a footprint in mud. Long face, with a large forehead, and the date clearly etched out in the handle by the hand of a carver. 1918. "Who did you hit with this Elisa?"

Watching her friend enjoy the sweets brought a smile to her face, she loved seeing her work be enjoyed, especially when it is delicious! "No reason, I was just in a cooking mood and I've been baking for the past few hours or so". She made sure to pay attention to Amber speaking on the topic of her brother, she remembered seeing Amber's brother a few times while with Roderich and visiting Antonio, and of course the meetings.

"I might just have to agree with you on that one for now" She knew that minds were working at this point and she pushed a smaller plates in a set of four, of little treats for the two of them, adding even more to the table, knowing it will be enjoyed. "Ah shopping! I might enjoy that very much so! You pick the day and run it by me, and we'll make it a go!"

Looking up, she watched Amber float through the kitchen opening her cabinets, trying to find something for her to use. She felt something stir in her at seeing that old pan, with the date etched in.... and it was one of her favorites to never use but to look back fondly on. "Ahh that pan... that was after the War, when my lands were separated from me... I used to smack Francis... I was quite angry after the signing of the Treaty of Trianon... and a comment was made, so I smacked him"

She hid a small smile and brought over a few smaller cooking things for her to borrow.

Amber fiddled with the old frying pan, turning it over in her hands to soak in its sentiment. The date etched into it brought back many memories. The old guns they had back then, the rain... and seeing Elisa, Germany and the Italian twins on the other side of the battle field. Well... Romano and Feliciano eventually came around to the same side, but that didn't change the fact that terribly young nations were in heated combat.

She set down the pan, and took the cooking utensils Elisa offered with a smile. "Merci!" she trotted over to the sweets again and took a delightful nibble. "I remember that day... France came home with a very large bruise over the left side of his face. He wasn't terribly happy" She took another sweet and popped it into her mouth, "Perhaps... we were a little hard on you and Roderich." She giggled "but you'll never hear France or England say that"

After about three or so more sugared delights, the stickiness began to catch up in Amber's mouth. She poured herself a glass of lemonade to clear her throat. She paused, entering rough territory was always awkward, but it had almost been a hundred years and curiosity was getting the better of her. "Do... do you and Roderich still talk?"

Elisa could only nod back in response at hearing the woman's story and did remember that he complained quite a lot after the signing was done, from one little whack. Gilbert got whacked plenty of times and never complained too terribly about it, but he did always get her back. She lifted her head at hearing that comment and smiled with complete honesty, She still felt upset about since it separated the two ... "Thank you, and I promise to keep it between us, besides those two idiots have enough to squabble about as it is.. I will not add any more fuel to that fire"

Sitting down with her own glass, she paused to snack on which she had made, and that Amber was enjoying a bit. They were sticky sweet and with the lemonade, made it more sweeter. She lifted up her head from staring at the table and gave a sad smile to her direction. She knew it was something she would always be asked and it dulled everytime.

"We talk.... when we can. I would like to speak to him more but... relations became strained more so after the Anschluss and than after the World War II, I was forced into Ivan's home... and we were isolated and separated for a long time but..." she spoke with a sadness, touching a small ring on her finger before continuing "We are trying to get back to comfort zone... somewhere that it isn't awkward or overly polite, even without sexual tension.. to friends and close ones at that"

She closed her eyes for a quick second and opened them to see Amber's curious face and smiled at the younger woman.... "Now, how about you... the relationship between you and your brother always seemed tense... is it getting better" The question was honest, she always knew Amber as outgoing and friendly, while her brother reminded her of Zwingli every once in a while but the aloofness but the attitude of the damn Turk sometimes.
